At Elder Independence Home Care, we believe supporting our nation’s service members extends beyond words—it requires action, understanding, and commitment. That’s why we are proud to support the mission of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and to stand behind the men and women who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
What is ESGR?
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. ESGR helps employers understand the rights and responsibilities of military service members under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) while encouraging workplaces that actively support military participation.
The organization works to strengthen relationships between employers and service members through education, outreach, mediation services, and employer recognition programs. ESGR also highlights the tremendous value Guard and Reserve members bring to the workforce through leadership, discipline, integrity, and service.
Why ESGR’s Mission Matters
Service members in the Guard and Reserve often balance civilian careers alongside military responsibilities. Supportive employers play a critical role in helping these individuals continue serving their communities and country while maintaining successful professional lives. ESGR’s mission helps ensure service members are respected, supported, and protected in the workplace.
At Elder Independence Home Care, we recognize that military service members and veterans bring exceptional skills, leadership, and compassion to the workforce, qualities that align closely with our values as a caregiving organization.
Elder Independence Home Care Signs Statement of Support
In April 2026, Elder Independence Home Care proudly signed an official Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve at our Bryant office in partnership with ESGR. The event brought together members of our team, ESGR representatives, and community supporters to recognize the importance of supporting those who serve.
During the event, attendees heard remarks about the mission of ESGR and the importance of creating workplaces that value and support Guard and Reserve service members. Elder Independence Home Care Recruiter Allayne Stephens and Owner Kim Clatworthy both shared their appreciation for the sacrifices made by military families and the importance of fostering a supportive workplace culture.
By signing the Statement of Support, Elder Independence pledged to:
- Fully recognize, honor, and comply with USERRA
- Equip managers and supervisors to effectively support employees serving in the Guard and Reserve
- Recognize the leadership, values, and skills service members bring to the workforce
- Continually support service members and their families in times of peace, crisis, and war
“Elder Independence Home Care is honored to sign this statement of support and understands that supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the Nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
